Including the art of condolence, is less than that of men, by the double.
For a woman or a man, it is about hoping for reward and having sabr.
And it may include displaying adornment.
And going out in front of men, so which is better?
You are more suited. Yes.
In any case, first we must know that condolences,
are not congratulations so that people gather for them,
stay up late, and maybe turn on the lights.
And you find the house as if it is a wedding party, as we have seen in some countries, as we also hear.
The purpose of condolences is to strengthen the one afflicted to have sabr.
And strengthening the one afflicted to have sabr is not through these outward things.
It is tangible; it is by reminding him.
With certainty that what has befallen him was never going to miss him, and what missed him was never going to befall him.
And that this is from Allah, and just as the Prophet ﷺ consoled some of his daughters.
Here, he said to the messenger whom he sent to her after she had sent him to him.
He said: Tell her to have sabr and seek reward from Allah.
For Allah only takes what is His.
And to Him belongs what He gives, and everything with Him has an appointed term.
This determination, the point is not to show joy in order to drive away sadness.
This is not correct, this is only a physical form of consolation.
Or an outward one that does not give the heart certainty or turning to Allah.
In consolation, we say to the man who has been afflicted: My brother, be patient.
He considers this world, and the believer knows that for Allah there is both taking and giving, and everything is decreed for a fixed term, neither advanced nor delayed.
The basis of this gathering that I referred to is not legislated.
In fact, they used to consider gathering at the house of the deceased and preparing food as part of lamentation.
And we praise after sins.
But if you asked for his mother or his wife.
Or a sister from a brother to take her to.
To the family of the deceased, should he advise her to stay or fulfill her request?
If the family of the deceased are relatives, so that if you do not go to offer condolences,
he feels uneasy. He takes her for five minutes, we say to him: go, then come back.
