Honorable sheikh, when the Prophet ﷺ mentioned that Allah cursed women who frequently visit graves, did he mean frequent visits or is it allowed to visit occasionally? The narration was reported in two ways.
The first version: the Prophet ﷺ cursed women who visit graves.
The second version: he cursed women who frequently visit graves.
Both have a correct meaning.
As for visiting graves, it depends on each woman individually.
"Zawwarat" means the category as a whole.
And it is known that the gender.
If we look at their actions.
It became widespread.
And the correct view, without a doubt, is that visiting graves is cursed.
According to this hadith, because the hadith is authentic.
Many scholars used it as evidence, and Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyya discussed it in his fatwas with good words.
The student of knowledge should review it.
And what came in the narration of Aisha.
That the Messenger, peace be upon him, taught her what to say.
What is meant is when a woman goes out.
Not with the intention of visiting, but when she passes by the cemetery and stops and makes du'a for them with the known supplication, then she is not considered a visitor.
Because a visitor is the one who walks from his house or his place to the one being visited.
The question remains about women visiting the grave of the Prophet ﷺ: does this fall under this or not?
Some scholars said it does, because this is commonly called a visit.
And some of them said it does not.
Because the one standing outside the chamber, between him and the grave,
is a structure,
three walls.
So it cannot be said that he visited.
That is why if you pass by a cemetery surrounded by a wall.
It is not said that you visited the cemetery.
Because there is a wall between you and it.
So is it called a woman's standing at the grave of the Prophet ﷺ.
Visiting a grave? That is why the scholars, may Allah have mercy on them, said.
Visiting the grave of the Prophet ﷺ is recommended, even for women.
But as a precaution, it is better that a woman does not visit the grave of the Prophet ﷺ.
It is sufficient for her to send peace upon him, even if she is at the farthest part of the world.
Because a person's greeting of peace to the Messenger ﷺ and his family reaches him wherever he is.
