As for the three that are confirmed in the hadith to break the prayer.
May Allah honor you, the black dog and the donkey, and also the woman. What is the wisdom behind this? It was mentioned that the black dog is a devil.
And some scholars mentioned that this hadith states that it breaks the connection, meaning it breaks the prayer, the prayer of the sick, three.
The dog, the woman, and the donkey. Some scholars said that no one acted upon this combination.
And this was narrated from Imam Ahmad, may Allah have mercy on him, but some jurists from the literalists, like Ibn Hazm al-Andalusi and others, did act upon it.
And we say that this hadith, with this consensus regarding the three that break, none of the early jurists gave a fatwa based on it, rather the statement came later, and they differ.
Regarding the issue of cutting off in these three cases, some said, for example, that the ruling remains for the dog, and some said the ruling remains, for example, for the woman individually, and some said the ruling remains.
For the donkey and the black dog individually. The majority and most well-known opinion is that they say the ruling is for the black dog.
They do not say the ruling applies to the woman or the donkey, and they use as evidence the case of the woman, that the Prophet ﷺ, as mentioned in the authentic narration, prayed while Aisha was lying in front of him, and when he went into sujud, he nudged her, and this is a kind of crossing or passing by.
Considering that the reason for the prohibition of a woman passing in front of a man is that she is in the space in front of him, and she remained there as well.
She would move her legs away from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ so he could perform sujud, and this is a kind of passing by, even if it is slight.
As for the donkey, what has been mentioned about it is in the hadith of Abdullah ibn Abbas in the authentic narration.
He said, as I passed by the Messenger of Allah ﷺ while I was on a donkey, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was praying in Mina without a wall in front of him, he said: So I got down and joined the row.
And I let the donkey graze in front of some of the row.
Some scholars, some scholars made an exception in this matter, some of them made an absolute exception because of the presence and generality of this hadith.
And Abdullah ibn Abbas did not care whether it passed in front of the imam or in front of a follower, and some said that the follower is protected by the imam's barrier.
And such a hadith is not acted upon, and in any case, we say that the most well-known opinion among those who made exceptions is that they made an exception for the dog.
As for the reason for that, what is the reason? This is something that some of the early generations found problematic, among them Aisha, may Allah be pleased with her, she found the reason for gathering these three categories problematic, and the most apparent is that the matter is unseen.
But we say that the ruling in this matter is definitive.
In the words of some scholars, like Imam Ahmad, may Allah have mercy on him, and others, the matter is about the interruption caused by the dog, but as for the rest of what the Prophet, peace be upon him, mentioned,
such as the woman and the donkey, we say it is disliked, but it does not interrupt, most likely. The common reason between them is an unseen matter that a person cannot specify, and Allah knows best.
