One of the sisters says in the hadith that charity is not appropriate for the family of Muhammad, as it is the impurities of the people. She asks: what is meant by the impurities of the people?
What is meant by that is that the charities are expiations.
And the expiations in that are a reference to the sins that cling to people, and the sins in that are, for example,
with their tongues, or with their mouths, or with their eyes, or with their ears, with their skin, with their private parts, and so on.
These are among the forbidden matters. A person gives charity and pays zakat to purify himself and his wealth.
And it is as if those sins fall away from him, those sins fall away from him, and those sins are the impurities, and that is what is meant by it.
That is why it is mentioned in the hadith: it is only the filth of the people, in this sense. And Allah knows best. May Allah reward you with goodness.
