I have a problem understanding the rule of maysir, which is that something is uncertain between gain and loss.
So how then is maysir different, since trade also involves profit and loss and is uncertain between gain and loss?
We ask for clarification on this. The issue that maysir is like trade, this is what I understood from the question now.
He says maysir is like trade, meaning trade involves profit and loss, and maysir also involves profit and loss. Trade requires thinking, effort, and exerting effort.
It involves consultation, travel, and so on, meaning a person puts in effort and then either profits or loses. Maysir, no.
Gambling is luck, luck or just knowing how to play, there is no effort that a person puts in to get this money.
In buying and selling and other things, and this is similar to what the disbelievers said when they claimed that trade is just like usury.
Like riba, but Allah permitted trade and forbade riba.
So here, gambling, since there is no effort, no thinking, nothing like that, it's just based on luck.
Wherever the chip or the dice lands, or whatever, he takes the money and leaves, and says: No, there's skill in it, and this and that. Most of those who claim skill are losers.
Those who gamble are all losers, gambling addicts, let's say, he sells his family, he sells his car, he sells his house, he sells this.
So it depends on luck, that's why trade involves effort, consultation, thinking, physical work, and so on, and it's completely different from gambling.
