He says: How to object to the ruler if he spreads his innovation or issues incorrect religious rulings.
Advise him, go to him and give him sincere advice, meaning the ruler and others as well.
Objection should not be done by exposing someone, and if Imam al-Shafi'i said: Take care to advise me privately.
And avoid advising me in public, for advice among people is a kind of rebuke I do not like to hear. If you go against me and disobey my words, then do not be upset if you are not obeyed.
And with the ruler it is even more serious, because with the ruler it can sometimes stir up the people.
And the ruler may not accept this, so if a person wants to advise a ruler or anyone else, he should advise him privately, and not expose him in front of people.
He should not expose him in front of people, whether he is a ruler or not, but with the ruler it is more severe because he might provoke others against him.
So let us have taqwa of Allah, the Blessed and Exalted, in our advice.
