Some people say that in times like these, with all these trials, it is difficult for us to lower our gaze.
Say: Are those who lower their gaze equal to those who do not?
As we said a little while ago, it is true, even striving in the way of Allah is harder than lowering the gaze.
Allah, the Exalted, said: Are those who strive in the way of Allah equal to those who remain behind? They are not equal.
Are those who have knowledge equal to those who do not have knowledge?
So we say, if you do not lower your gaze, do not come tomorrow and say, why is the one who lowered his gaze better than me in the sight of Allah, the Blessed and Exalted.
It's not just about lowering your gaze. Now someone says, "I can't live without paying a bribe."
We say, are you equal to the one who doesn't pay a bribe? Someone says, "I have to cheat or the sale won't go through."
You are not equal to the one who doesn't cheat. Someone says, "I can't succeed unless I cheat."
For example, oh, open these doors, don't ever close them.
We say to these people: Rather, lower your gaze, seek help from Allah the Exalted, and remember what Allah has prepared for you.
And if you don't lower your gaze, what will you gain? Distress, sadness, a tight chest, and so on. It's not like those who look are given that girl to marry, no.
You look at her, get upset, and walk away. You gained nothing. What did you gain? There is no good in a pleasure that is followed by Hellfire.
So what does a person gain from letting his gaze wander? On the contrary, he only harms himself.
He is harmed if he lets his gaze wander, but if a person guards his gaze, he finds comfort and his soul is at peace.
So we ask Allah, the Blessed and Exalted, to grant us and them guidance, all of us. Alright.
