Allah, the Blessed and Exalted, when He gives this world to someone, He gives it to those He loves and those He does not love, because it is not worth the wing of a mosquito to Allah.
A mosquito, so He gives it to whomever He wills. Allah, the Blessed and Exalted, says: We test you with evil and with good as a trial.
So good is a test and evil is a test. The test is not always sickness; sometimes it is with wealth.
A person is tested with wealth, tested with children. The test can be with good and with evil.
So the one who is tested with good—does he give thanks and attribute the blessing to Allah, the Blessed and Exalted, and use it in what pleases Allah, Verheven en Hoog is Hij, or does he become arrogant, disobedient, and rebellious?
With this blessing, and likewise the opposite. That is why Allah, the Blessed and Exalted, says: No! Indeed, man transgresses.
When he thinks he is self-sufficient, wealth becomes a burden.
It is upon him, and the test can also be with hardship, with illnesses.
With the death of parents, the death of children, the death of a wife, the death of a husband, with poverty, with illness, and other things. This test is from Allah, the Blessed, and a person should never seek trials.
Nor should he pray for trials upon himself, but if he is tested, he should have sabr.
And he asks Allah, the Blessed and the Exalted, for steadfastness, Verheven en Hoog is Hij.
