What is the ruling on someone who says, "I thank Allah that I am from such-and-such tribe."
Or is happy about that.
For example, if a person's lineage goes back to Banu Hashim.
Meaning he is close to the Prophet, from the relatives of the Prophet ﷺ, yes, this has
the honor of being close to the Prophet ﷺ. As for anything else,
all of them are equal, all of them are equal.
Okay, but if his family or tribe is known for goodness, known for generosity, known for courage, known for.
Good qualities, and there is nothing wrong with that.
He praises Allah, but he does not praise Allah in front of people.
This is boasting about lineage. He should not boast about lineage in front of us, but between him and his Lord, the Exalted, there is nothing wrong with boasting about this.
