Sheikh, her third question is about a matter that has ended, and many people are involved in it, regarding the will, Sheikh, and writing it and documenting it. She asks: Is it necessary, Sheikh, to have it officially documented, or is it enough?
To write it and keep it, for example, at home. The will is valid if it is issued by the person, then it applies to him.
And no one who knows about it has the right to change it, but since the will
takes effect after a person’s death, it must be documented, for an external reason, which is that disputes may arise among the heirs.
Or disputes may arise regarding the estimation of the wealth, as well as personal interests and other matters. So we say in that case, also regarding the distribution of wealth that a person leaves behind,
we say regarding this that it is better for a person to have it officially documented and witnessed, to prevent problems that may arise after his death. And Allah knows best. May Allah reward you, Sheikh.
