Of course, regarding organ donation, this is a lengthy issue, and the scholars have spoken about it a lot.
And it is based on a fundamental question: are a person's organs his property or not? Is your body your property or do you not have the right to dispose of it?
The correct view is that the human body is not his property, and if a person kills himself, Allah will punish him with a severe punishment in the Fire of Jahannam.
And the Prophet ﷺ says: Whoever stabs himself with an iron object.
Then his iron object will be in his hand, stabbing his stomach in the Fire of Jahannam, remaining there forever.
And whoever throws himself from a mountain, he will be falling in the Fire of Jahannam, remaining there forever.
A person does not own himself to say: By Allah, I will kill myself, or commit suicide, or cut my hand off; he does not own himself.
Just as he is held accountable for killing others, he is held accountable for killing himself.
So a person's body is not his property to do with as he wishes.
In this way. But the issue remains, which is another matter, and that is the issue of organ donation.
It is called, when two harms conflict.
When two harms conflict, the lesser harm is given precedence.
So if we suppose that a person has both kidneys damaged.
And he cannot live without a kidney, and every person has two kidneys.
So someone donates his kidney to him so he can live, here there is harm for the donor.
But it is a benefit for the one who receives the donation.
So some scholars prohibit it, saying: Why? They say: Because there is harm for the donor, because the donor might die, this donor might be affected.
By the loss of this kidney, and some scholars.
He said: A person can live a completely normal life with one kidney, so if that is ensured and the specialized, skilled doctor.
Okay, he said your kidneys.
Are both good and you can live with one, and this kidney can be donated to another person and he can live with it.
The second person, instead of dying—some scholars see this as permissible, and this is the closest opinion, and knowledge is with Allah the Blessed and Exalted.
But selling is not allowed, because as we said, this was only permitted—why? To prevent harm.
Which is death, but selling here is not to prevent harm, rather it is for him to profit.
He started selling, selling to make a profit, but these organs are not his property to sell. He was only permitted to do this to save a person from destruction, not to trade.
With these organs, so if it is for the purpose of selling and trading, this is absolutely not allowed. But if it is to save a person from destruction,
And the doctor, meaning the skilled and competent one, said that he would not be harmed and could live, then there is no problem, inshaAllah.
For a short period, meaning the person, but if he gets older and his age is with Allah, he needs.
Not this statement, we say if the skilled doctor says, the distinguished doctor.
If this doctor says he can live, inshaAllah, a completely normal life with one kidney, there is no problem, it does not harm, inshaAllah the Exalted, it does not harm.
