My colleagues and I would like to buy a gift for our direct supervisor.
As a gesture of appreciation and thanks for the support he gave us throughout the year in achieving the organization's goals.
Where we work, is this permissible? And is it considered a bribe?
By Allah, if this direct supervisor is the one who evaluates you.
I tell you, if you have a need with him, it is not permissible.
If you have a need with him, but if he is resigning.
For example, he is retiring or moving.
There is nothing wrong with that. But as long as you still need something from him.
Then it is not allowed, because this affects the heart. Tomorrow, when one of you appoints someone weak, he will say: he brought me a gift.
It's a failure. So this gift affects his heart.
So it is not allowed to give it, and the same applies to teachers.
We mentioned this before, it is not allowed to accept gifts from students.
Except at the end of the year, during the year as long as you have no need, do not accept the gift. Female and male teachers should not give a gift to the principal. The direct supervisor is not included in this.
The school principal and so on, it is not allowed. Do not give a gift, because you have an interest with him.
So let us have taqwa of Allah, the Blessed and Exalted, and pay attention to this matter.
