If someone comes to advise another person to maintain his prayer,
he says to him: I have many sins, and he mentions some of them, but I do maintain the prayer.
He says this as encouragement for him.
So is this advice or is it openly declaring sins?
No, if he doesn't specify the sins, meaning he just says: I also sin.
And I fall short, all of us sin. Allah, the Exalted, says: You make mistakes by night and by day.
We all sin, we all fall short, we all make mistakes.
So if you say to him: I also fall short, and I also make mistakes.
And I also, but do not lie by mentioning sins you have not committed, like saying: I also stole, when you did not steal.
Or you say: I cheated, I bribed, I killed.
And you did not kill or anything, that is not allowed. But to say: I sinned? Yes, of course you are a sinner, there is no one who does not sin.
So if it is generally understood that I sin and so on, there is no problem, inshaAllah.
