Sheikh, here one of the sisters says: gold that is kept for saving and preserving wealth, not for adornment.

Is zakat due on it? Yes, it is due. We say regarding stored gold, there is no difference among the scholars that zakat is obligatory on it if it is kept for saving, even if it is shaped as jewelry.

Because some women receive zakat, but gold.

Not in the form of jewelry, and sometimes she takes it in the form of jewelry, like bringing gold bars, dinars, dirhams, or other forms.

And some of it is taken as necklaces, earrings, anklets, and so on, in the form of jewelry but not for adornment, she takes it for saving.

So we say, whatever is kept for saving, even if it is in the form of jewelry, she must pay zakat on it, and there is no difference among the scholars on this.

But if she wears it from time to time, then this falls under the issue of jewelry, and this is an area of disagreement among the scholars. The majority of scholars say there is no zakat on it, while Imam Ahmad, Al-Shafi'i, and Imam Malik said there is a difference of opinion regarding its obligation.

And what the majority of the early generations and most of the sahaba, may Allah be pleased with them, held.

So the view of five of the sahaba, as Imam Ahmad, may Allah have mercy on him, said, is that they did not require zakat on jewelry if it is lent out and worn.

If it is lent out, lent and worn, and there are a few opinions narrated from Anas on this, and we say the basis in this is what came from him, what came from the majority, and Allah knows best. May Allah reward you with goodness.
