This questioner also asks and says: I read in a book that there is a type of soft music that is permissible.
And I have heard that the Messenger ﷺ forbade singing and anything similar to it.
So what is the ruling of the Sharia regarding what we have read? And is there a difference in the ruling between soft music and other types? Please inform us, may Allah reward you.
We do not recognize music or anything like it.
As for nasheeds in detail, all of them are prohibited.
All of them are forbidden entertainment, all of them are means of corrupting the hearts, causing heart disease, and turning people away from good.
It is obligatory to abandon them, as the Exalted and Most High said in His great Book.
And among the people is he who buys idle talk to mislead others from the path of Allah without knowledge.
And takes it in mockery; for them there is a humiliating punishment.
Most of the scholars, may Allah have mercy on them, mentioned this regarding this verse.
That what is meant by "talk" here is singing, and what accompanies it of instruments of amusement.
Is this what is obligatory upon the people of Islam?
They did not take disbelievers as an example in these matters or in anything else.
Music, the oud, the violin, and all other musical instruments are all forbidden, and all of them are musical instruments.
The Messenger ﷺ forbade them and opposed them, and likewise, songs are all from musical instruments.
The Prophet ﷺ says in the authentic narration: There will be people from my umma who will consider unlawful sexual relations, silk, alcohol, and musical instruments to be permissible. Narrated by al-Bukhari in his Sahih.
No, "al-har" means fornication, and "al-harir" is well known.
Some men made it permissible, but it is forbidden for men, and all intoxicants are alcohol.
It is forbidden for all Muslims to consume it, whether making it or drinking it.
It is forbidden for everyone, and regarding alcohol, there are ten related matters, because alcohol.
The Messenger of Allah forbade alcohol, its side, the one who serves it, the one who presses it, the one who extracts it, the one who carries it, and the one to whom it is carried.
And the one who sells it, the one who buys it, and the one who eats its price.
Other than this, it is an evil, but the Prophet ﷺ informed that at the end of time there will be people who drink it and call it by other names.
This is from that evil, and likewise the musician.
Today, they make it permissible by giving it different names.
Musical instruments come from playing music.
And they do it with singing, which is a disgrace for him.
And this is something that distracts from the remembrance of Allah.
And it keeps you away from good, and wastes your time.
The believer does not do what causes the heart to become hard, sick, and turn away from good.
The believer must be cautious of this and not be deceived by those who are careless in these matters without any proof. May Allah bless you.
