This is the she-camel of the Messenger of Allah. It is not the habit of the Messenger of Allah to return to Mecca from Hira at this time. There must be a reason.
The Messenger of Allah returned early. Maybe he is ill.
Let's wait and see.
Why did he return early? This is not his habit.
I was about to go to him with lunch, and then he returned. May it be good, inshaAllah.
What is going on here?
Let the Messenger of Allah go up. What is the matter? Then my command, brothers. Come on, let's go.
People of Quraysh, Muhammad, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, wishes to speak to you.
People of Quraysh, Muhammad, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, wishes to speak to you.
People of Quraysh, then proclaim what you have been commanded.
And turn away from the polytheists.
Brothers in faith, by Allah, if the Messenger of Allah is harmed by Quraysh, we will strike them with our swords.
Sa'd! Come on, Ali! Unless the Messenger of Allah calls, did Abu Ubayda attack him?
O people of Quraysh, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ says to you.
O sons of Abd al-Muttalib, O sons of Ka'b, and O sons of Fihr.
What if I told you that there were horses at the base of this mountain.
Wanting to attack you. Would you believe me? Yes, for you are truthful.
The Messenger of Allah says to you: I am a warner to you before a severe punishment.
The Messenger of Allah says to you.
Allah, the Exalted, has sent him to you as a Messenger, to warn you to have iman in Allah alone, and to leave behind the shirk you are upon.
And you show affection and mercy to one another.
The Messenger of Allah has come to you with Islam.
And with the testimony that there is no deity except Allah.
And that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah.
I bear witness that there is no deity except Allah, and I bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah.
Woe to you for the rest of this day, this is what our call means. In the name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate.
May the hands of Abu Lahab perish, and may he perish.
His wealth and what he earned did not benefit him.
He will burn in a Fire of blazing flame.
And his wife, the carrier of firewood.
Around her neck is a rope of palm fiber.
Allah the Almighty has spoken the truth. No! No! We will not leave you, Muhammad.
The opposition remains, and we will confront you! Yes!
What is wrong with you, Abu al-Hakam? Leave people to their opinions.
So whoever wills, let him believe, and whoever wills, let him disbelieve.
I see that you have only abandoned your religion just like Muhammad did.
No! We will not let you corrupt the gift of Quraysh! No! What a fool you are!
I heard your nephew, Abu Talib.
This is the end of your love for Ali and your standing up for him.
Do not allow anyone to even look at him with a harsh glance. Wait, O Abd al-Uzza.
Wait, my brother, what has happened? They want us to abandon our religion.
And to give up our gods and follow him?
Then he says: He is a Messenger from Allah, sent to guide people to worship the One, the Unique.
What is this madness, O Abu Talib? He wants to turn Quraysh against us.
So they will drive us out, or wipe us out completely.
No, by the Lord of the Kaaba, this will not happen. And what do you want, Abu Lahab? I will stop him by force. Wait, my brother.
Wait, I am the leader of Banu Hashim.
That is not for you, and no harm will reach Muhammad as long as I am alive.
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ began to openly call to the message.
After three years from his mission, after the noble verses were revealed.
The noble Prophet was commanded to proclaim the message openly.
Proclaim openly what you have been commanded, and turn away from the polytheists.
And in His words, the Exalted: And warn your closest relatives.
And lower your wing to those of the believers who follow you.
But if they disobey you, then say: I am free from what you do.
Proclaiming the message openly had a strong impact on the people of Mecca.
Its echoes spread throughout the entire Arabian Peninsula.
In fact, proclaiming the great divine call.
Opened a new chapter in the book of the entire universe.
Starting from Mecca, the sanctuary of the Sacred House of Allah.
And its noble Kaaba.
What is this that your nephew has brought, Abu al-Fadl?
O Abu Sufyan, Muhammad, who is truthful in speech, would never say something unless it came to him from where he informed the people.
What is it, Abu al-Fadl? It's as if you are supporting your nephew.
Me? No, Abu Sufyan, but I only say what I know, and you know it, and all of Quraysh knows it.
Muhammad, my nephew, only speaks the truth. So if he said what he said, know that he is truthful in it. O my cousins.
What Muhammad has brought will have consequences. What do you mean, Abu Sufyan?
It was just a word that slipped from your tongue.
Abu Sufyan, don't let this matter lead you to severing family ties and hostility.
The honor of Muhammad is the honor of all of us, in fact, the honor of all of Quraysh.
So leave him to what he is doing. If he prevails, then it is for you and for us.
And if he does not prevail, you have lost nothing. Is that so? Is that how it is, Abu Talib, that things reach this point with your son Muhammad?
That he calls us, ten overstaan van alle getuigen, to abandon our religion and our gods and follow this nonsense he has brought? Wait, Abu al-Hakam, wait.
They are not our gods. Rather, you seek closeness to Allah through them.
No, Abu Talib, no. They are our belief, inherited from our fathers and grandfathers.
Al-Lat, Al-Uzza, Hubal, Manat, Dhu al-Khalasa, and others represent the gods of the Arabs, and we are not alone in this.
In fact, all the Arabs follow this. We offer sacrifices to them, we seek rain and children through them.
After all these years, Muhammad comes and denies this.
Do you accept this, Abu Talib? Abu al-Hakam, Abu al-Hakam.
Muhammad only called you to something; if you wish, take it, and if you wish, leave it.
And your nephew says he is a Messenger. What sane person would accept this? This is madness!
The only thing we were missing was for a man from among us, whom we know and who knows us, to come, and after forty years of living among us.
He eats, drinks, marries, and has children, then gathers us and says,
I am a Messenger Prophet.
So follow me. No!
No, this will not pass with Quraysh. Wait, wait, wait.
For the sake of the Lord of the House, do not sever your family ties. I told you, it is nothing but a call.
Whoever wishes may accept it, and whoever wishes may leave it.
No one will force you to do what you do not want.
Woe to you, people of Quraysh, why do I see your voices raised in the courtyard of the Kaaba?
Our voices are raised, and it will not be long until.
Until our neck veins swell. What is it, Abu al-Hakam? Muhammad? Muhammad ibn Abdullah gathers us, saying he is a Prophet.
And we must follow him, and if only he had stopped at that, but he commanded us to worship Allah alone and abandon our idols.
And what's the matter? What's the matter?
By al-Lat and al-Uzza, he is nothing but someone seeking power, O Nadr.
I see nothing but that you take his words as mockery and ridicule. He is not like Muhammad, the truthful and trustworthy.
Who is mocking him, O observer? Your jaw would be broken if you said, O master.
O Quraysh, or O elder of Quraysh, for some time you have been speaking against the Prophet of Allah and rejecting his words.
And you have not refrained, for you are speaking about a Prophet whom Allah sent to guide you. We will take your words, O Nadr.
Let's go, my people. I am Abu Dharr, Jundub ibn Junadah al-Ghifari.
Where can I find Muhammad ibn Abdullah al-Hashimi? Welcome, brother from Ghifar.
Muhammad is on the other side of the Kaaba, near the Yemeni corner. Come, I'll take you to him. Brother from Ghifar, what do you want?
You don't want anything from Muhammad. I want to see him and hear from him. Why do you care about him?
You will hear nothing from him but mockery. No, uncle, you shouldn't speak about Muhammad, the Prophet of Allah, like that. The Prophet of Allah?
The Prophet of Allah—by al-Lat and al-Uzza, he will bring calamities upon Banu Hashim.
By Allah, since I heard about you, O Messenger of Allah, I mounted my camel and came to you.
By Allah, I will not fear the blame of anyone for the sake of Allah, so what should I say? Say.
I bear witness that there is no deity but Allah, and I bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah. I bear witness that there is no deity but Allah, and I bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah.
Come here, come.
We never thought that a wise and patient man like you would follow this weak nonsense.
If Allah the Exalted opened your heart to Islam.
You would not have said what you said. No.
He will never open my heart. Do you think I am foolish enough to follow Muhammad?
By Allah, Muhammad only came to you with guidance and the true religion.
So leave him to do what Allah has commanded him.
And if you wish, keep away from this matter until Allah makes it prevail, and do not oppose Allah and His Messenger.
This statement stopped me; how narrow its way out is.
By Allah, O Messenger of Allah, I will declare Islam openly in front of all of them.
Abu Dharr does not fear anyone, no matter how great his ignorance, so how about now that his heart is filled with the light of Allah.
Abu Dharr al-Ghifari set out until he reached near the House of Allah.
He declared his Islam in front of the Quraysh polytheists, challenging them.
He recited verses from the Quran in front of them.
They attacked him with a severe beating.
His brothers in Islam stood up for him, Sa'd ibn Abi Waqqas.
And Abdur-Rahman ibn Awf, Abdullah ibn Mas'ud, and Ja'far ibn Abi Talib.
If it were not for the polytheists' fear of the Ghifar tribe, and their concern for their caravans and trade, they would not have left him except as a lifeless body.
But Allah willed that Abu Dharr would remain.
A thorn in their hearts. Woe to them.
They have harmed you. We should not have let them harm our brother like this.
By Allah, their beating did not hurt me, and I am happy to be beaten and to show courage for the sake of my religion.
As soon as I mentioned to them their caravans that pass through the road of Ghifar, I struck them at their weakest point.
Quraysh cannot tolerate risks to their trade.
Brothers, won't you recite to me some of the verses being revealed to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ?
ﷺ. This is Abdullah ibn Mas'ud.
He is the most fortunate among us and the best in recitation.
In the name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate.
Alif Lam Ra. This is a Book We have sent down to you.
To bring people out of darkness into light.
By the permission of their Lord, to the path of the Mighty, the Praiseworthy.
Allah, to whom belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Woe to the disbelievers from a severe punishment.
Those who prefer the life of this world over the Hereafter, and turn people away from the path of Allah, seeking to make it crooked.
They are in deep misguidance.
You came searching for the true religion.
And then you found yourself reaching servitude and transmission.
Woe to the people of the caravan, I gave them two years in exchange for bringing me to these lands.
Where is the Prophet I am waiting for, the one for whom I crossed the deserts searching?
So they sold me as a slave to a Jewish man in Yathrib.
O Salma, when your eyes are adorned with kohl in the mirror.
The people gathered and discussed the matter, but they did not decide anything. What do you think about Muhammad?
It's just a story he made up, and I think we should mock him and make fun of him.
I think we should criticize his religion and belittle him and those who follow him.
And I think this matter was plotted at night.
It is nothing but a scheme by Banu Hashim, through which they want to regain their authority over Quraysh and Mecca.
And then authority over all the Arabs.
But no, this will not happen as long as there is a pulse in my veins.
Only our weak ones follow him.
And it is not easy for us to torture them just to make them return.
In this way, our slaves are tempted by us.
It is only a short while before Muhammad's call leads them to rebel against us.
And a slave may become a master.
And the master becomes his servant, and even worse.
The Arabs will turn away from us, and we will lose our prestige and leadership over the Arabs.
They do not consider anyone equal to us. They say, "You have introduced something reprehensible that we do not accept."
We might lose our trade, and lose the pilgrimage of the Arabs to Mecca. This is how the family of Hashim takes revenge.
I think we should start with our weakest.
We will subject them to various forms of torment until they return to us.
And he leaves Muhammad, and I will start with this runaway slave, Bilal.
Has he really done it? Yes, he has done it, and he has followed the religion of this apostate, Muhammad ibn Abdullah.
No. No, Muhammad.
We will not grant you your request. Did you hear, Abd al-Uzza? What is it, Umm Jamil? Say it. Your nephew. Which one?
Who else but Muhammad, the apostate who insults our religion and our gods.
A lie that will bring disaster upon Banu Hashim. Woe to you, he is insulting us. Who?
Me and you, all of Quraysh repeat the claim that it came to him from Allah. What came to him from Allah? He says: May the hands of Abu Lahab perish, and may he perish.
His wealth and what he earned did not benefit him. He will burn in a Fire of blazing flame. And his wife, the carrier of firewood.
Around her neck is a rope of palm fiber. He threatens me with the Fire? I swear I will smash his head against the wall of the Kaaba.
O Abu al-Hakam, if we confront Muhammad, Banu Hashim will protect him from us.
That is not for them, they all worship us.
Abu al-Hakam, the Hashimites will not hand Muhammad over to you, whether they believe in him or not.
Except for your relative, Abd al-Uzza. So what should we do?
We must gather the leaders of Quraysh and explain to them the danger of Muhammad and what he is calling to.
Some of them might feel compassion and mercy.
Especially in front of their children.
And the sons of their uncles, their maternal uncles, and their clients are entering the religion of Muhammad.
Quraysh are traders, and if they fear for their status, their trade, their leadership, and their way of life, they will surely respond.
I fear, I fear the betrayal of Quraysh.
We must win them over against Muhammad, so that we can be united in facing Muhammad and what he calls to.
Then? We can fight Muhammad.
But.
After we have strengthened ourselves and become united.
Against Muhammad and those who support him.
And I will start with Yasir tomorrow. Did you hear what your brother brought?
What is it, Abd al-Uzza? He says their disgrace is a woman from Quraysh.
May the hands of Abu Lahab perish, and he is ruined. His wealth and what he earned did not benefit him.
Where did this voice come from? Leave this, Abd al-Uzza.
And listen to what I say. And what will you say, Abu Talib?
I did not dispute your leadership of Hashim, but my father left it to me and Banu Hashim accepted it.
And I have never overstepped you, nor have I ever imposed upon you anything you disliked.
Rather, I have spent my wealth for the sake of your honor and dignity among your people.
While you were trading and accumulating wealth.
And it is your right upon you to support your nephew instead of abandoning him and helping his opponents against him openly.
O Abu Talib, my brother, do you think Quraysh will leave us alone?
No, by the Lord of the Kaaba, they will drive us out of all of Mecca.
And they will deprive us of our homes. Then where did your nephew get this religion from? Don't you see that he criticizes our gods and the gods of our fathers and grandfathers, and you tell me to support him?
How? How, O Abu Talib, after what has happened between them.
May I, father? Speak, Ja'far.
When Muhammad called out and proclaimed the message openly, the Quraysh did not come close to him, nor did they distance themselves from him.
Except for what happened from my uncle Abd al-Uzza when he said: Woe to you, is this why you called us? Yes.
Woe to him and woe to his response. Like that.
We will protect him and defend him.
As long as there are eyes among us that blink. May Allah bless you.
May Allah bless you, who is your master?
Praise be to Allah who guided us to Islam, O Bilal. You and I are men from Abyssinia, and another traces his lineage to the Romans, Bilal the Abyssinian.
And Suhayb the Roman.
It is a mercy from Allah, the Exalted.
It was destined for us to meet here in Mecca, the sacred city.
Then we come at a time when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ is sent.
ﷺ. Yes, by Allah, Bilal.
It is truly a mercy from the Lord of the worlds, but what can I say, Bilal?
We are among people who commit shirk, and by Allah, they will not hesitate to torture and exhaust us so that we abandon our iman and Islam.
Death is easier for me; I will not abandon my religion.
Even though I am a slave to the most ruthless man in Quraysh.
Umayyah ibn Khalaf. That is why I started this conversation with you, my brother Bilal.
Seek forgiveness, Bilal, until Allah the Exalted provides us with a way out.
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ commands us and we obey.
ﷺ. We will meet tomorrow at the house of Al-Arqam.
See you. See you.
Uncle Nawfal, welcome, you have honored our house.
No welcome and no greeting. They call me the Lion of Quraysh.
By Allah, Zubayr, I will do things to you.
Where have you been, O Abyssinian?
I went out for some of my affairs and came back.
Now you have affairs, slave. Go back to your hole, and tomorrow we will see. What happened? Did you do something? I did everything.
Go back to your hole, and then we'll see if you rebel against your master and do what angers them. I don't understand what you're saying, sir.
Tomorrow you will understand. Woe to me, I will tear the flesh from your bones. What are you saying, uncle? What uncle.
I'm saying you left the religion of your forefathers and followed Muhammad? Muhammad who came to corrupt the religion of the ancestors and forefathers?
The religion of Qusay and Abd Manaf, were they not mushrikun as he says? Yes, by Allah, they were mushrikun, that's the truth.
And you say this in front of me? In front of the lion of Quraysh? It's better for a strong man not to be harsh. And you support him, Safiyyah, you support him? And know this, no.
Aren't you from Banu Hashim? Aren't you Muhammad's aunt? Hold on, Naufal, don't mention Muhammad in a bad way in front of me. Woe to you!
You follow Muhammad. I do not fear the blame of anyone.
I bear witness that there is no deity except Allah, and I bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah.
I bear witness that there is no deity except Allah, and I bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah. Muhammad has bewitched you all. O Nawfal. By Allah. with Muhammad.
Or I will go after his life.
Think about what I told you tomorrow. Get up, my son, get up.
Be patient, O. I bear witness that there is no deity except Allah, and I bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah.
Yasir, his wife, and his son Ammar, I was only in front of the ruler for destruction.
Or they turn back from supporting Muhammad. Come on! Musa said.
If you disbelieve, you and everyone on earth together, Allah is free of need and praiseworthy. Has the news not come to you of those before you?
The people of Nuh, 'Ad, Thamud, and those after them—none knows them except Allah.
Their messengers came to them with clear proofs, but they put their hands in their mouths and said,
We have disbelieved in what you have been sent with.
And we are in serious doubt about what you are calling us to.
Their messengers said,
Is there any doubt about Allah, the Creator of the heavens and the earth? He calls you
to forgive you some of your sins and to give you respite until an appointed time.
They said, You are only humans like us. You want to turn us away from what our forefathers used to worship.
So bring us clear proof.
Even if you bring clear proof.
No. What?
What is it, Abu al-Hakam? You enter our house like this without knocking or asking permission.
And you have a house and a home.
You are nothing but my slaves, I do with you as I wish, so how is it now that you have left me.
The religion of Quraysh, and followed the religion of Muhammad ﷺ.
They disbelieved in him, by the Lord of the Kaaba.
I will kill you all! No, Abu al-Hakam, death comes before that.
What did you hear?
What was that murmuring you were reciting?
The verses of Allah are clear. Let me hear.
Come on, let me hear.
Glory be to Allah, He opens his heart to Islam.
Their messengers said to them.
We are only humans like you, but Allah favors whom He wills among His servants.
And it is not for us to bring you any proof except by Allah's permission.
So let the believers put their trust in Allah.
And why should we not put our trust in Allah when He has guided us to our ways?
And we will be patient with the harm you cause us.
And let those who rely, put their trust in Allah.
We will see. We will see if you are patient with My punishment.
Seize them and tie them up! Go on!
One, one, one.
No, you will not turn back from the religion of Muhammad ﷺ.
Otherwise, by the Lord of the Kaaba, I will make you taste death. My own soul is a thousand times less important to me.
Than to leave the religion of Allah after He has guided me to the truth.
What's wrong with you, Baraka?
I have no one in Quraysh, Zayd. Don't say that.
But Allah and His Messenger, and I as well.
Since yesterday, they brought the youths of Quraysh.
They beat me with whips and threw stones at me and Iman. They lashed her back with whips.
Woe to them, do they strike a person who says, "Our Lord is Allah"? How evil is what they do.
And also. Seek protection with the family of the Messenger of Allah, for he is protected by the power of Allah and the protection of the family of Hashim.
May Allah protect him from it. And you, where are you going?
Khadijah sent me to free some of the oppressed Muslims who are being tortured by their masters.
May Allah protect you, Khadijah. How much you spend and free for the sake of Allah. They will surely torture us and try to turn us away from our religion.
But no way, no way, Barakah.
Sabr. Sabr until Allah decrees a matter that will surely happen. His mother.
You go. Go.
Leave the religion of Muhammad and return to the religion of Quraysh. By Allah, I will not do it even if I am killed.
O idolaters of Quraysh, they are torturing these poor people with unbearable torment.
Even the solid mountains could not bear it. Understand, Muhammad! I will never associate anyone with Him, anyone, anyone! Understand, Muhammad! I will never associate anyone with Him.
Anyone! Allah is greater with Muhammad! Anyone, anyone! Yes, by Allah, He is One, O Bilal.
O Allah, relieve them, O Most Merciful of the merciful.
Kill Muhammad.
Woe to you! Do not be stubborn!
We will not disbelieve anymore. So do as you wish. Woe to the judgment.
He is about to perish, O Yasir. O Allah, relieve the family of Yasir. O Allah, relieve the family of Yasir. Now.
I bear witness that there is no deity except Allah, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and Messenger.
Muhammad has bewitched you.
What are you doing to him, you beast? What are you doing to him?
Rather, I am the lion of Quraysh, and he will regret what he has done.
Khalid will take revenge on you for Hamza. Hamza is on our religion.
Allah protects you from me.
Are you defying me? Are you defying me and following Muhammad?
Do you want Quraysh to drive us out and the Arabs to gloat over us?
He will discipline you with a lesson that will be an example for anyone from Banu Asad who dares to do what you did.
This is what your nephew did, our cousin Khadijah.
Who is screaming with this terrible scream?
By Allah, I will not disbelieve in the religion of Allah, the Exalted, even if you kill me.
This is the slave girl of Banu Mu'ammil whom Umar ibn al-Khattab is torturing. O son of al-Khattab, his brother Zayd believes in Allah and His Messenger, and he is the harshest of Quraysh against the Muslims.
By Allah, I will never disbelieve in the religion of Allah, even if you kill me.
I left you, not wanting to beat you, out of boredom.
May Allah increase your distance from Him.
Woe to you, how strongly you hold on to the religion of Muhammad.
There is certainly something behind this. I hope that Umar will come back to his senses, for he is harsh and severe, but.
Muhammad.
If that pleases you.
We are patient. This is your master every day. Disbelieve in Muhammad, woe to you.
I will not leave you until you die. Stop!
Look at these apostates, they do not turn back from the religion of your nephew.
But what you are doing, son of Al-Hakam, goes against the actions of the leaders of Quraysh.
They have disbelieved in our religion and turned away from obeying us.
In fact, you are torturing them because of their loyalty to Muhammad.
More than you torture them for their religion. What are you getting at, Abu Amarah? You mean that you torture them out of hatred for Banu Hashim.
And out of desire for the leadership of Quraysh, more than you torture them for their religion. These are weak people, Abu al-Hakam. They are clients, and I am free to do with them as I wish.
Strike!
He almost choked. And who told you I would let go of the rope so he could choke?
Or you disbelieve in the religion of Muhammad.
I will not do it, and I will not leave you. Abu 'Amarah, will you not stop, Naufal? Listen, Abu 'Amarah.
You are preventing Banu Hashim from us, so whoever among them is captured is under protection, so let our sons go.
But Zubair is the son of Safiyyah's sister, and I will not leave him in your hands while you are the fiercest of Allah's creation.
I will not leave him, Abu Amara.
By Allah, I do not force your dispute.
Not to that extent, Naufal. I have not believed in what Muhammad has brought.
But what you are doing shows an indescribable harshness.
The lion of Quraysh.
Zubair.
You are a lion descended from lions. Let them fight, our mother. Your uncle might kill your maternal uncle.
Strongest of hands, I must meet you one day.
How much you endure, O family of Yasir. It will remain like this until you die.
Or you worship Allah and al-Uzza. You will die, you and your wife and your son Ammar.
You disbelieve in Muhammad, and you proclaim al-Lat and al-Uzza.
I bear witness that there is no deity except Allah.
And I bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah. True.
Your Lord will take revenge on you. Yes.
Your Lord will take revenge on you. What did you say? Woe to you, my name is Muhammad, and the religion of Muhammad. I will not.
The religion is sealed. I bear witness that there is no deity except Allah, and I bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah. My death.
