Here as well, Hatim asked about the issue of seeking refuge in every rak'ah before reciting al-Fatiha.

As for the recitation, it can either be continuous or separate, but regarding the prayers, the most apparent view is that it is continuous.

This is because a person does not mention the opening du'a in every rak'ah, since the opening is for the whole prayer, and the same applies to seeking refuge.

So the recitation in the second, third, and fourth rak'ah follows the previous recitation, and for this reason we say regarding seeking refuge, one time is sufficient.

As for the basmala, it is recited at the beginning of every surah, even if it follows the previous recitation, since it is one of the separations between surahs.

Between every surah, there is a difference of opinion regarding al-Fatiha, whether it is a verse from it or not, and for this reason we say: the most apparent view is that in prayer, one seeks refuge only at the beginning of the recitation, and Allah knows best.
