Peace and mercy and blessings of Allah be upon you. May Allah welcome you and honor you.
Many people are keen
to be ahead of others in something they call being first.
Or to show people things they haven't noticed.
Or that others haven't seen, so he starts filming.
And sometimes this filming is of people.
It could be a scandal for them.
So it is not allowed to film a person without his permission, just as it is not allowed to record his words without his permission.
This is a kind of spying that is forbidden in the Sharia.
That means a person must ask permission before filming, and ask permission before recording.
No, filming people without their knowledge is not allowed, especially if you then go on to share that footage.
On these many social media platforms, this is especially the case if it is something that harms or offends him.
This is not allowed, and sometimes it can ruin his social life, especially if you record him making a mistake.
Allah, the Blessed and Exalted, commanded us to cover the faults of a Muslim, and it is not allowed to expose him.
In fact, even for non-Muslims, it is not allowed to expose people.
Nor to spy on them, and as far as I know, even the law forbids that.
So we must have taqwa of Allah, the Blessed and Exalted, and not record people, let alone share their pictures.
And expose them, especially if these things harm or bother them.
So let us have taqwa of Allah the Blessed and Exalted in this matter. Allah sees us, the Exalted. Allah knows best. May Allah's peace, blessings, and mercy be upon our Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.
