The authenticity of the hadith: If two Muslims meet and shake hands, their sins fall away like the leaves of a tree.
We say that what was narrated by Abu Dawud in his Sunan from the narration of Al-Ajlah from Abu Ishaq from Al-Bara' is sufficient.
That the Prophet, peace be upon him, said: If two believers meet and shake hands,
they are forgiven. And this chain is authentic. As for the part about sins falling away like the leaves of a tree,
this is a hadith narrated by Al-Bazzar in his Musnad from Al-Ala ibn Abd al-Rahman from his father from Abu Huraira from the Prophet, peace be upon him, and it also came from Al-Ala from Hudhayfah ibn al-Yaman.
And it was also narrated from Anas ibn Malik by Al-Bayhaqi from Matar al-Warraq from Thabit from Anas ibn Malik. And we say.
As for the narration of Matar al-Warraq, it is weak, but from the narration of al-Bara' ibn Azib, he said: They were forgiven. Its chain is authentic according to Abu Dawud and others, and Allah knows best.
