Umm Mu'adh asks: What is the authenticity of this du'a: O Allah, to You I complain of the weakness of my strength, my lack of means, and my insignificance in the eyes of people? This is in the du'a of the Prophet, peace be upon him, when he returned from Ta'if.

This narration was reported by al-Tabarani in his book al-Mu'jam, from Muhammad ibn Ishaq, from Hisham ibn Urwah, from his father, from Abdullah ibn Ja'far, and it also came with differences regarding Muhammad ibn Ishaq.

That is because it was narrated from Muhammad ibn Ishaq from Shabib ibn Urwah from his father from Ibn Ja'far, and it was also narrated from Muhammad ibn Ishaq.

From Yazid ibn Ziyad, from Muhammad ibn Ka'b al-Qurazi, from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and the narration is defective due to Muhammad ibn Ishaq being alone in it and his confusion in the narration.

Some consider it good, but the more apparent view is that it is weak. As for its meaning, its meaning is correct, and some lean towards accepting the narration because its wording is sound, and also its phrasing is close.

To the phrasing of the Prophet, peace be upon him, in terms of wording, but we say that in terms of the chain of narration, the hadith is defective, and Allah knows best.
