He says there's a graduation ceremony with music, and I don't want to go to the ceremony, but my mother and father want to see me at the event.
And if I refuse, they might get very upset.
Anyway, regarding these matters, the music here is not the main purpose, meaning he's not going because of the music.
He's going to the ceremony, not for the music, like someone going to the market where there's music, or taking a plane where there's music.
Or entering a restaurant with music. He doesn't intend the music, and they differentiate between hearing.
And listening. Listening is when you deliberately listen to music and pay attention to it, while hearing is when you hear it against your will, not by your choice.
So he is going for the graduation, not for the music, so inshaAllah there is no problem, but.
If the music starts, he can step outside for a bit, then come back, and so on, so that he doesn't listen to this music, and may Allah help, inshaAllah.
