Shaykh, may Allah preserve you, what is your opinion on birth control and limiting offspring?
My opinion is that this is not up to humans, but rather it is up to Allah, the Mighty and Majestic.
As for limiting offspring in the sense that a person uses
when he has a certain number of children and then uses something to permanently prevent pregnancy, this is haram, as stated by the scholars.
As for what is called regulation,
this is allowed in two cases, such as when the woman is weak or sick and cannot handle pregnancy.
In this case, she is given something to prevent pregnancy at that time.
It varies from woman to woman, and also according to the woman's own condition.
She might be able to get pregnant easily one year without illness or harm, and it could be the opposite another year.
Then we say to those who want or claim to organize.
Is it in your hands to keep those who are already here alive?
Everyone says no, perhaps a calamity could befall them and take them all in a single year.
So where is the organization? And it is known that the Messenger, peace be upon him, encouraged the umma to marry loving, fertile women.
Meaning, those who have many children, in order to increase the offspring of the Islamic umma.
And having many people and a large umma is undoubtedly part of its honor.
And its strength.
