He says: What is the ruling on clothing of fame? Clothing of fame is to stand out.
Clothing of fame is standing out with the intention of standing out.
Clothing of fame is standing out with the intention of standing out, like saying: Look at me.
That is, he wants people to see his clothing, so his clothing is different from others for this reason.
But if this clothing is in accordance with the sunnah,
in agreement with the sunnah, and the Prophet ﷺ encouraged it and the lawgiver commanded it, then this is not fame.
For example, shortening the garment is not considered showing off, why? Because this is something the lawgiver commanded. But if you say, for example, in Kuwait someone wears a turban.
Wearing a turban, for example. Okay, we say this is not from the clothing of the country.
And the Prophet ﷺ, when he wore the turban, it was because all the people of the country
wore turbans, so it was the clothing of the people of the country.
So there was no distinction in this. But shortening the garment, no, here there is a command.
From the lawgiver, the Prophet ﷺ said: Whatever is below the ankles of the izar.
In the Fire. So shortening the garment is part of clothing.
Fame, so clothing of fame is to stand out among people.
Without there being any religious command that ordered this.
