First, what types of styles are there? Tell us, young men.
Anyway, the Prophet ﷺ forbade qaza'.
He said, take it all or leave it all.
And the qaza' that you see, where they shave the sides here and leave the top, like Muhammad said, like the mohawk for example or something similar, making a crest for example.
Or shaving from the middle, you might see some of us during Hajj.
For example, he shaves a patch in the middle and leaves the rest of the hair.
Or he shaves the hair and leaves the middle like a cap, like a hat, like this. The important thing is that taking some of the hair and leaving some is not allowed.
Either all of it is taken or all of it is left.
As for thinning the hair, which we call "toilet" (styling), taking from all the hair without shaving one side and leaving the other, this is allowed, there is nothing wrong with it.
Yes, what is forbidden is qaza', which is taking some of the hair and leaving the rest.
Some people take it completely, as they say, like those who shave all of this side and all of that side, leaving just this part like a cap.
