Sister Umm Muhammad says she intends to perform Hajj this year, and the group told them to delay the arrival tawaf and do it with the farewell tawaf.

As for the arrival tawaf, we say that it is most likely sunnah.

The arrival tawaf is sunnah, especially if the person is in that situation.

Intending ifrad or intending qiran, there is no problem in delaying it. Some scholars say the arrival tawaf is obligatory and that a sacrifice is required, but the more correct view is that it is sunnah.

But we point out regarding the questioner, perhaps the person is performing tamattu', but as for if he is performing tamattu'.

He is not allowed to perform 'umrah after completing the rites of Hajj, as he would not be considered a mutamatti'. The 'umrah must come first, and his initial tawaf should be for his arrival, and the 'umrah includes that, so it must precede his rites and come before them.

And before the Day of Arafah. But if he arrives late, for example on the Day of Arafah, then it is better for him to hasten to perform the rites on that day and stand at Arafah.

He should not be with those making tawaf, while the people are with those standing. This is preferable in this case, and it depends on his situation, but it appears from his situation that someone like him

should perform ifrad or qiran. If he is performing ifrad or qiran, then his matter is easy, and the tawaf of arrival is sunnah according to the stronger opinion, especially in recent times.

With the large crowds and also the severe congestion, it may be difficult for people to perform the tawaf of arrival. So we say there is no harm for them to proceed directly to Arafah in that case. And Allah knows best.
