He says: Is it true that Aisha, Ibn Abbas, and Ibn Umar, may Allah be pleased with them, used to give fatwas allowing the eating of the meat of predatory animals and donkeys?
We follow, with the help of the words of our Lord, the Exalted: Say, I do not find in what has been revealed to me anything forbidden to be eaten by one who wants to eat it, except if it is carrion.
Or spilled blood, or the flesh of swine, for it is impure, or a sinful offering dedicated to other than Allah.
And that this abrogated the hadith about every predatory animal with fangs and every bird with talons.
This issue is a matter of disagreement among the scholars.
Is it.
Those with fangs.
And those with claws are forbidden, but this is a matter of disagreement.
Some scholars believe that nothing is forbidden except what the verse forbids: Say, I do not find in what has been revealed to me anything forbidden to one who wants to eat it except it be carrion, or blood poured forth, or the flesh of swine.
Say, I do not find in what has been revealed to me anything forbidden except this.
So other than that, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ did not find it forbidden, so it is not forbidden. And some people also say,
They also forbid these animals with fangs that hunt with them.
The predatory animals like the tiger, the dog, the cat, and so on, and the birds of prey like falcons that hunt with their talons, because even chickens have talons.
Right or not? Have you never seen a chicken? They have talons, they do.
And every bird with talons, the chicken is a bird and it has talons, so why do you eat it then?
Because it doesn't hunt with them.
Because it doesn't hunt with them, what is meant by animals with fangs, and birds with talons are those that hunt with them. Have you ever seen a falcon flying with a fox's baby?
Flying with a chicken, flying with a baby, flying with a sheep, all flying with it.
This buzzard even goes up to the top of the high mountain, and I left it. It doesn't always catch something, and sometimes it dies.
That is what is meant. The point is that this is a matter of disagreement, but the most apparent view is that every bird with talons and every beast with fangs is also haram, so it is not allowed to eat them.
