It is recommended to prompt him to say la ilaha illallah, meaning a person should say it when he is on his deathbed.
What is the ruling on prompting him to say la ilaha illallah like this? This is recommended, because the Prophet ﷺ said: Whoever's last words are la ilaha illallah will enter jannah.
So if this is the case, and he is already saying it, la ilaha illallah, he is already righteous and saying it, then he should be left alone.
That's it, or if he said it and then dozed off, then he should be left alone. Don't keep telling him, "Say la ilaha illallah," he already said it.
But if he forgot it, and is talking about worldly matters and such, and about so-and-so, and telling so-and-so something, then he should be reminded.
And tell him, "Say la ilaha.." or say la ilaha illallah in his presence so he remembers it. On the contrary, it is recommended.
