What is the ruling on seeing pictures of animals in videos without music?
In other words, I would like to know the ruling on images in videos. May Allah reward you with good.
In the name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate. All praise is due to Allah. May Allah send prayers and peace upon His Messenger, his family, his Companions, and those who follow his guidance. As for what follows.
I do not know of anything regarding seeing images except how.
No, I do not see any harm in this.
Unless the images are those that arouse desires, such as images of singing women or images of handsome young men, then the believer should lower his gaze from that.
And feeding them, as for other animals like camels, cows, sheep, lions, hyenas, and the like, there is no problem with that.
But if the image is of something that causes temptation or leads to fitna.
Like images of seductive women and images of young boys.
Yes, lowering the gaze from women, and men lowering their gaze from women and young boys so that fitna does not occur.
May Allah reward you with good. Does the question now move, honorable Shaykh, to the ruling on photography in that case?
Photographing is something else. Yes, photography is not allowed if it is of beings with souls.
Whether it is from the children of Adam or not.
The Prophet ﷺ said: The people who will receive the severest punishment on the Day of Judgment are the image-makers.
And because he ﷺ cursed the one who consumes usury and the one who gives it.
And he cursed the image-maker, as narrated by al-Bukhari in the authentic collection.
Making images of beings with souls, whether from the children of Adam or others, or the angels.
But in cases of necessity, not for a person.
Allah's choice when.
Like photographing Muslims who are being sought for arrest, and testing Muslims.
Or a design given for a new nationality or citizenship, if there is a need for that, then there is no harm if he obtains it.
Except with a photo, because this purpose is known.
And distinguishing him, knowing him from others. The point is, if the photo is for that.
In cases of necessity, like what was mentioned, then there is no problem if there is a need. And he says, but in His saying, "Whoever disbelieves in Allah after having faith, except for one who is forced," meaning. forced. Yes.
