Fatima has waswas, and she mentioned in her first question about a job.
She says, Sheikh, that she passed the exam for this job by cheating.
She has doubts about the salary she receives.
As for her work, we say that cheating is haram, because it is forbidden for several reasons.
The first is that it is pretending to have what one was not given, and the Prophet ﷺ said: Whoever pretends to have what he was not given is like someone wearing two garments of falsehood on the Day of Judgment, meaning he is wearing two garments of deceit.
It exposes his true inner self, and this is a kind of disgrace.
Likewise, it is also considered part of deception that falls under the saying of the Prophet ﷺ: Whoever deceives us is not one of us. It falls under the general meaning, even if not in the specific context, as the context was about selling and matters related to wealth.
As for her job after she has settled and worked in it, then
whether her work in that is permissible or not in terms of her earnings and what she accomplishes, for example, we say that this does not go beyond two cases: the first case.
If, for example, there is deception.
The deception affects her work, such as if she has forged an entire certificate, like someone who works in computing but has absolutely no knowledge of computing.
In that case, the deception enters into the profession and trade, and he is deceiving and falsifying in it, so we say his work is not permissible and he must leave this job.
His work in that includes all other professions, like someone who adds a certificate in medicine or engineering or mathematics, and then practices that work.
So it is not permissible for him to practice that work, because doing so is deception, it is cheating.
But the second scenario is that he actually has the qualification for that work.
But he cheated in a percentage that does not affect the quality or mastery of the work.
For example, a person might have a certificate in engineering, a certificate in mathematics, and a certificate in something else.
But he cheated in a minor matter that does not affect the core of the work, it does not affect the core.
Regarding the essence of the work, and if he performs the work, he does it with excellence. We say that he has sinned in the first matter, but as for his performance, if he completes it and does it in the proper way,
and his qualification in that is valid, then we say that his work in that is valid, and he should seek forgiveness for what has passed, and Allah knows best.
May Allah reward you with goodness, sheikh. The five minutes.
