May Allah reward you with goodness. What is the awrah of a woman in front of another woman?
The surprising thing is that this question has become frequent.
It has become common among people these days. I do not know if women think that they should only wear what covers between the navel and the knee.
No, they do not want this. They are people of evil.
If we say that the awrah of a woman in front of another woman is like the awrah of a man in front of another man,
then the awrah would be what is between the navel and the knee. So do these questioners or the women asking want this?
Do they want the woman to go out to her sister wearing nothing but trousers from the navel to the knee?
For this reason, this question should be avoided.
It should be said: a woman must wear clothing from the ankle to the wrist.
This is obligatory, just as the women of the sahaba used to do this in their homes.
And if you want her to go out, you make a train for her garment, meaning the edge of the garment drags on the ground so her feet are not visible.
So that his feet are not visible. This is what Shaykh al-Islam, may Allah have mercy on him, said in his book on women's clothing.
Women in their homes are covered from the wrist to the ankle.
And when they go out, a woman wears a garment that drags behind her.
So that her foot is not seen.
And we seek refuge with Allah from saying that it is permissible for Muslim women to go out among women wearing only what covers between the navel. We seek refuge with Allah from saying this.
But if we suppose that a woman is wearing loose, ample clothing.
Then she lifts her garment in order to do some work, meaning her mother is doing some work and there is nothing wrong with that.
Or she lifts her garment to avoid something on the ground.
Water or something similar, then there is no problem.
Or she exposes her breast to nurse her child in front of her sisters, there is no problem, as long as the clothing— we say: a woman should wear what covers between the navel and the knee.
