By Allah's grace, we have been guided to obey Him and to avoid listening to songs, music, and the like.
But my question is: is watching movies and series on video and similar things considered haram or not? Please advise us, may Allah reward you.
Yes, watching videos and video tapes.
If they contain songs, women displaying their beauty,
a man embracing a woman, a woman embracing a man, or a woman kissing a man and the like,
all of this is haram. It is not permissible to watch it or to listen to the voices of singers.
In exaggeration and triviality, Allah the Mighty and Majestic has forbidden singing, and nothing else has Allah forbidden.
Because Allah, Verheven en Hoog is Hij, has forbidden His servants from watching what He has forbidden them to watch.
And listening to what He loves, and listening to songs and entertainment.
So it is obligatory for the believer, male and female, to avoid what Allah has forbidden.
Do not greet with what Allah has forbidden, do not watch with what Allah has forbidden, not in adultery, not on television, nor anything else.
It is obligatory to avoid evil and not. This is how the believer should be, this is what is required of him.
Allah, the Exalted, says: When they see a sign, they turn away and say, "This is ongoing magic."
If you do so, you are like them. The believer must not attend such gatherings.
And he should not listen to evil speech.
Not songs, nor entertainment, nor anything else that Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, has forbidden.
Likewise, he should not watch indecent series or indecent scenes.
Where women are exposed to men.
These are warnings for men. the man. but Allah the Mighty and Majestic has forbidden it.
Whether this is in person or on television, the point and the summary is that it is obligatory for both men and women to avoid what Allah has forbidden.
