May Allah reward you, Sheikh. Her third question, she says.
A woman was blessed with a newborn and saw in her dream that she saw someone dear to her.
He asks her to name her such and such. Sometimes, Sheikh, someone sees in his dream his father or mother.
They ask him to do something. Is it obligatory for him to do it? No, these things, of course, regarding dreams, the Prophet ﷺ says: A dream is one part out of forty-six parts of prophethood.
But we say that this part indicates that it includes a number of things as well.
To confirm that, is the dream or is it from imagination? Then also, in terms of interpretation, perhaps what is meant is not the naming, not the naming itself, but the interpretation is another matter.
It is neither obligatory nor recommended for a person, if he sees his father or mother in a dream commanding him to do something, to comply with it.
To comply with it, unless that command is, in its origin, something legislated, such as the father or mother—
For example, after their death, the child appears in a dream and commands him, for instance, to maintain the prayer, to uphold family ties, to be good to his wife and children, to be good to the neighbor, to avoid oppression, and so on.
This is part of dutifulness and part of a vow, and for this reason, this is included in the general statement of Allah, Verheven en Hoog is Hij: for them is glad tidings, and the glad tidings is that a person sees a vision.
Or it is shown to him, so it gives the believer a warning, cautions him, and brings him joy, but it does not deceive him regarding glad tidings, and this also, we say, is in terms of his taking action or refraining.
He follows the legislated means as well as the known tangible causes. May Allah reward you, Shaykh.
