Which is better: giving charity or fasting during the ten days of Dhul-Hijjah?

We say that good deeds are generally virtuous, as the Prophet ﷺ said: There are no days in which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allah.

Than these ten days. They asked: Not even striving in the way of Allah? He said: Not even striving in the way of Allah, except.

Except for a man who goes out with himself and his wealth and returns with nothing. What are the virtuous deeds in the ten days of Dhul-Hijjah? We say: everything that is virtuous returns to its value as it was outside the ten days of Dhul-Hijjah.

So we say: in this, prayer is better than fasting, fasting is better than Hajj, and so on.

We say their value is as it is outside these days, and the preference in this returns to the general texts. As for what evidence shows to be virtuous in the days of the ten days of Dhul-Hijjah.

So we say it is virtuous in itself over others due to the evidence for it, such as the takbir, for it is prescribed to say takbir during the ten days of Dhul-Hijjah.

This is based on the clear words of Allah the Mighty and Majestic, and also on the actions of the sahaba, as narrated from Abdullah ibn Umar and Abu Huraira, that they used to go out to the market and say takbir, and the people would say takbir with their takbir.

We say: this is among the righteous deeds and good actions for which there is evidence specifying them. As for specifying fasting during these days, nothing is confirmed from the Prophet peace be upon him, but it is reported from some of the sahaba.

It is authentically reported from Umar ibn al-Khattab that he used to delay making up Ramadan until the ten days of Dhul-Hijjah. He said: There are no days

I love to make up in these days, in these ten, so we say it

indicates the general permissibility of doing good deeds such as prayer, fasting, and charity, as well as honoring parents and being good to people.
