Peace and mercy and blessings of Allah be upon you. Peace and mercy and blessings of Allah be upon you. Honorable Sheikh Muhammad ibn Salih al-Uthaymeen, may Allah grant him success.
I ask your eminence to clarify what a woman whose husband has died must do during her waiting period, and what she must avoid.
In the name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate. A woman whose husband has died must avoid, during her waiting period, first of all, any beautiful clothing considered as adornment.
Second, she must avoid all types of jewelry, whether in the ear, on the arm, on the head, a necklace, or anything similar, all types of jewelry.
Third, kohl, so she must not use kohl at night or during the day.
Fourth, beautification by coloring the lips or anything similar.
So it is not permissible for her to do any of that.
Fifth: she must not leave her house.
Except for a need or necessity.
Sixth: she must not wear perfume.
With any kind of fragrance, except that if she becomes pure, she may use some incense.
She may use it to remove any odor.
From her private area and its surroundings.
Yes. she does not go out.
I said, if she goes out of the house for a need or necessity.
