He asks, what is the position of the scholars and their students?
Regarding issues of embezzlement of public funds.
That are stolen by some officials, and also, why do they not speak about this? First, this matter is all just people talking.
And it is not permissible to attack the honor of people who have stolen or embezzled and so on, except when the judiciary rules on it.
These are judicial matters, and the judiciary must rule on them. Otherwise, a person should not speak about our honor, saying this one embezzled and that one stole, just because people say so.
This one embezzled and that one stole, that's first. Second, the Prophet ﷺ informed us about this.
He said: You will see favoritism after me, and things you will find objectionable. He said: Favoritism means taking wealth without right.
They said: So what do you command us? He said: Be patient until you meet me at the basin (al-Hawd).
He did not say: Expose them and speak against them. He said: Be patient.
Until you meet me at the basin (al-Hawd). This is the second matter. As for the cases of the stateless and others, there is no doubt about these.
Meaning they are from among us and part of us, and they must be given their rights that belong to them. No one denies this ever, and we have spoken about this in this gathering more than once.
And that they must be provided with education, healthcare, marriage, and everything they need. Likewise, if they have rights, they must be given.
These rights must not be neglected, whether by the government or by the general public.
This is a right, for the stateless and for others; any Muslim has a right.
Or someone who is afflicted, or in distress or sorrow, it is obligatory for the Muslim to be with him, as the Prophet ﷺ said: The example of the believers in their mutual love, mercy, and compassion is like that of a single body.
If one part of it suffers, the whole body responds with sleeplessness and fever. This is an obligation upon Muslims, there is no doubt about it. People are talking, may Allah the Exalted open for them the doors of His mercy.
