In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Honorable Sheikh, may Allah pardon you.
Some brothers believe that a Muslim woman should never leave her house with her mahram to go to the market under any circumstances.
Even if they do not notice anything about her that could lead to fitna.
Those who say that even if the woman is righteous and upright,
she might look at men, or she might be harmed by some people, and so on. In that case, her going out would lead to great harm.
So what is the Islamic guideline for a woman leaving her house with a mahram or without a mahram in cases of necessity? I hope you can clarify this matter for me and my brothers, by Allah.
I say, without a doubt, it is better for a woman to stay in her home.
And it is further from fitna and evil.
And it is not hidden from any of us what happens when women go out to the markets.
Of fitna for them and by them.
So if it is possible for her not to go out, that is what is required.
And if she is forced to go out, then let her go out as the Prophet ﷺ said, and let her go out unadorned.
Also, not those who are displaying their adornment or wearing perfume.
But she should not go out except for a need, such as buying something her guardian cannot buy for her.
Because products differ, and she might choose a specific item that her guardian would not buy for her.
Although I think that yesterday.
This can be done by the guardian buying the item she mentioned to him, and telling the seller that he will give it to his family.
If they accept it, fine, and if they reject it, he returns it. This is possible.
So what I see in this matter is that the woman should stay in her house in all cases.
She should not go out except for necessity, and if she does go out for necessity, she should not wear perfume or display her adornment.
As for her having a mahram with her, there is no doubt that this is better and more appropriate.
But it is not obligatory as long as the matter does not require silence.
But unfortunately, you find some people who go to the tailor,
or to the merchant with their family, and then stay in the car.
And the woman is the one who goes and speaks to the men, and this could lead to fitna.
So a person should be a firm and protective man over his family, and not do this action.
If it is absolutely necessary, then he should go down with her, stand by her while she speaks to the man, or he speaks to her and then he speaks to the man.
