This is our brother, the questioner Ibrahim Abu Hamid. He has a set of questions. In the first question, he says: Some people, O respected Sheikh,
when asked, "Where is Allah?" say, "He is everywhere." What is the correct answer based on the Islamic evidence? May Allah reward you with good.
In the name of Allah, all praise is due to Allah, and may Allah's peace and blessings be upon the Messenger of Allah.
And upon his family, his Companions, and those who follow his guidance.
As for what follows, it is obligatory for whoever is asked, "Where is Allah?" to answer as was answered
when the Messenger ﷺ asked her. She was a slave girl, and her master wanted to free her.
So Al-Husayn said to him: Allah is above the sky.
He said: Who am I? She said: You are the Messenger of Allah. So ﷺ said to the one who brought her: Free her, for she is a believer. Allahu akbar.
And this is what is required: Where is Allah? He says: In the sky, above the Throne.
And He said: Do you feel secure from Him who is in the sky, meaning in elevation, in the direction of above.
Above the Throne. He said, Verheven en Hoog is Hij.
To Him ascend good words, and righteous deeds He raises up.
And the angels and the Spirit ascend to Him, as mentioned in the verse.
And Allah, Verheven en Hoog is Hij, said: The Most Merciful established Himself above the Throne.
The meaning is that your Lord is Allah, who created the heavens and the earth in six days, then established Himself above.
In seven places in the Quran, it is mentioned that He is the Seven, de Verhevene, and the people of sunnah and the community from among the sahaba of the Prophet ﷺ and those who follow them with excellence.
They believe in this and affirm that He, de Verhevene, is above the Throne.
Above all creation, and that He rose above in a manner befitting His majesty and greatness, not resembling His creation in any of His attributes, the Exalted.
Then the eye of Allah performed sujud, saying: in the sky above His Throne.
This is what Ahl as-Sunnah wa'l-Jama'ah have said, as indicated by the Noble Qur'an and the purified Sunnah.
And whoever says that He is in every place has lied against Allah and His Messenger.
And this is disbelief; he should be asked to repent, and if he repents, otherwise he is to be killed by the authority, the ruler.
He should refer him to the court, and if he repents, otherwise he is to be killed.
Because its meaning is denying Allah's elevation, that He is above the Throne.
It means denying Allah and denying the Messenger ﷺ, so he becomes a disbeliever, an apostate who considers it lawful. If he repents, then fine, otherwise he is to be executed by the authority of the ruler, through a legal trial.
